Questions
What rights do I give Readie?
You may be offered between a license (you keep the copyright and give us exclusive publishing rights for a certain amount of time) and a buyout (you sell the copyright and we become full owners of the work). Everything is written in your contract before you sign.
How much will I be paid?
Our offers currently range from $500 to $1,500 per story, depending on the story. It is a one-time payment. We pay by bank transfer, Wise or PayPal within 15 business days after we accept your final files. However, an offer is not guaranteed for every submission. Only those that qualify based on our internal criteria will be provided with an offer.
How long does it take?
We reply within 7 to 10 days.
Can I keep my story on Wattpad or another platform?
We ask you to remove it within 14 days of signing. We can't accept stories that are exclusive to another platform or in a paid or exclusive program. You may keep up to 4 chapters as a preview if it links to Readie.
What is your AI policy?
Please submit your own writing. We ask you to tell us if you used AI tools and how. Our editors review every declaration, and undisclosed AI use breaches the contract.
Do you charge authors anything?
No. Submitting is free, and we never ask authors to pay.
What happens to my story if you don't make an offer?
We keep it private. We delete your files immediately, in keeping with copyright and privacy laws.
Can I submit if I'm under 18?
Not at this time.
Finished the last chapter?
Send it to us. It takes about 10 minutes.
